Jon began to practice macrobiotics in 1977 and later enrolled at the Kushi Institute in London to study the subject in depth. By 1983 he was the Director of Education for the Kushi Institute in London and had been made an Associate Dietary Counsellor by Michio Kushi himself. Since 1980 he has taught macrobiotics, shiatsu massage, oriental diagnosis and macrobiotic medicine worldwide.
He sat on various committees for the European Macrobiotic Assembly throughout the 1980s, and in 1996 he founded the Macrobiotic Association of Great Britain which he then Chaired until recently. His book, Macrobiotics For Beginners, is a popular and practical book covering the subject.
Over the years Jon has counselled, taught and demonstrated macrobiotics to thousands of individuals. He has also been called upon to give advice to leading figures in the world of fashion, the entertainment industry and royalty.
As a mother of three children, Renata is very practical, down-to-earth and fully committed to preparing good quality macrobiotic food for her family. Like Jon, she has a wealth of experience that comes from years of practice.
