Feng Shui Practitioner Training Course
With Jon Sandifer (FSSA)
Hampton Wick, Surrey, UK
November 15 2008 – June 21 2009
The Course
Over the past 15 years I have taught modules of Feng Shui for many different colleges, schools and international organisations worldwide. It has always been my dream to teach a very concentrated course of this fascinating subject to a group of motivated beginners who are keen to really understand and practice what I consider the real fundamentals and essence of Feng Shui. The subject has grown in popularity in the last fifteen years and in many ways the bubble has burst. There are few schools and colleges offering professional training anymore in the UK and for many the books in the market now are often conflicting or confusing. Being an author myself I am familiar with the different styles that are presented by different authors and schools and have put together for this special course what I consider the true essence of Feng Shui. Many leave out some of the core principles of the subject or pad it out with information that is more suited to an interior design course.
With my own background in Feng Shui, Shiatsu, Macrobiotics and Chinese Astrology I can bring together for you the essential material that you need in order to survey clearly any property and give good solid grounded advice.
I joined the Feng Shui Society in 1994 and very soon took on responsibility for education standards within the Society. I felt that it was important that some kind of standard was set regarding what practitioners should know prior to either listing themselves as a consultant or indeed working as a consultant. It was a tough job to take on but I succeeded and later was made Chairman of the Feng Shui Society. I always maintained that I would remain Chairman until standards and code of ethics were in place which I am proud to say are now in place and it is around these guidelines that I have also designed this special course. For more full details of the Society please go to www.fengshuisociety.org.uk
This link with the Feng Shui Society means that when you complete this course your details will be forwarded to the Society and you are then welcome to join the Feng Shui Society as a Feng Shui Society Accredited Member. This then allows you access to their website, listing on the website as an Accredited Consultant and to contribute to their wonderful journal. The annual fee for membership is £125 and there is a reduction in the joining fee from £50 to £20 as a graduate of mine. Having the initials FSSA next to your name does give clients a lot of confidence and the leads provided by the website listing are a very cost effective form of advertising.
In 2006 I ran this course over 3 intensive one week modules. Twenty four students began the process and sixteen survived! One of the special features of this course is that I insist that the students assist me on site visits once they have completed the first two weekends. This invitation will be open to you as well. The way it works is that when I get a job I email your group and let you know the time and location to see if you are available. To my knowledge no other teacher or school offers such an exciting and valuable service. It really is essential that you get the practice with this wonderful body of knowledge.
The sixteen graduates keep in touch with me and amongst themselves. We all learnt so much during the process and still share our experiences and some of them now despite having graduated still like the experience of coming on site with me. They are also keen to do the occasional follow up day on subjects that they would like to go into in more detail.
One of the requirements set up by the Feng Shui Society is that you have an understanding of subjects like electromagnetic stress, geopathic stress, dowsing and space clearing. These are subjects I am familiar with and know many of the leading experts, teachers and authors of this subject worldwide. However, it is not my particular expertise. Therefore, I will invite two other teachers to teach this aspect of your course to give you the best introduction to these fascinating subjects.
Jon Sandifer
Just in case you do not know my own background in Feng Shui I will give you some information here. I began my so called journey into this world of Chinese and Japanese traditions in 1977. It was then that I began working as a volunteer at the East West Centre in London and studied macrobiotics, the 9 stars, shiatsu massage and face reading at the Kushi Institute in London. By 1981 I was directing the education programme and continued to do so until 1994. During this time I taught worldwide and both taught and directed a very successful programme in London with affiliates in Lisbon, Florence, Antwerp and Amsterdam etc. In 1994 I decided to set up on my own and in 1997 began to write. That particular venture led me to write eight books including Feng Shui Astrology, Feng Shui For Life and the Authentic I Ching. I think I have one more book up my sleeve!
During that time I was asked to teach and speak in the United States, here in the UK and in Europe. Currently I maintain a busy practice and having had a background in teaching it felt very right for me to present this course one more time giving you the opportunity to learn the real essence of this subject. My dream is that some of the graduates of these two trainings will in some shape or form become associates of mine.
I was fortunate enough to survive a very intensive training in Feng Shui with a Chinese master from Hong Kong. Despite me thinking I knew it all he opened my eyes to knew formulas and a very skilful understanding of how to use the Lo Pan compass. In addition I am honoured to have met and co-written a book on the I Ching with Professor WangYang from China and of course my original 9 star teacher Michio Kushi who at 81 is still alive and well. I am indebted to these three men in particular and am honoured to have the opportunity to pass on the spirit of their contribution to you as well.
