Astrology Predictions

The Nine Star Influences in 2008

2008 will begin on what is known as “The First Day of Spring” – 4 February 2008 at 7pm local time.  Unlike Chinese astrology, Nine Star Ki astrology is based on the old farmers’ almanac which always used the very first day of Spring as being representative of the change of energy (Ki or Chi).

The Star that is at the centre in 2008 is known as the 1 Water Star.  The influence of this Water generally brings a more peaceful time as the symbolism of the Water element is drawn from the trigram from the I Ching that represents the second born son.  His position in the family is always synonymous with diplomacy and peace.  It is interesting to note that both 1918 and 1945 were 1 Water years when the world saw the advent of peace after many years of war.

Also, it is interesting to see individuals born into a 1 Water year have always been associated with a time of either peace, reconciliation or stability.  These people include Queen Victoria, Nelson Mandela, King Charles II, Elizabeth, the Queen Mother and currently Condoleezza Rice.

Calculating which star are you

In ascertaining which of the Nine Stars was present during your year of birth you must remember to make the calculation from 4 February from the year in question through until 3 February in the following year.  Therefore, if you were born in mid-January 1974 you must make the calculation back to 1973.

Simply add up all the digits of your year of birth e.g.  1954  = 1+9+5=4
                                                                                                = 19

You need to get to a figure that is below 11, so add them again

                                                                                         1+9 = 10

Then finally take this total away from 11
                                                                                         11-10= 1 Water

Here is what I sense is in store for the Nine Stars in 2008

The 1 Water Star

In 2008 your Star is at the centre of the Bagua or Magic Square and this is a major opportunity to reinvent yourself.  It is likely to be a very busy year and at times chaotic and sometimes brilliant.  Being in the t’ai chi does not always mean peace and harmony but can actually equally mean chaos.    Remember that out of chaos everything is born.  You enter this House every nine years of your life and therefore return to this position of rebirth when you are 9, 18, 27, 36, 45 etc.  Be prepared for quite considerable intensity change or upheaval in your life and this will become more intense during September 2008 – try and stay still in this month.

Fernando Alonso, Kate Middleton, Britney Spears, Gwyneth Paltrow, Joe Calzaghe, Paris Hilton, Liam Gallagher, Eric Clapton, Peter Townshend, Brad Pitt, Annie Lennox, Serena Williams, Filipe Massa, Helen Mirren

                  The 2 Earth Star

This Year your 2 Earth Star migrates to the North West position and this location belongs in the I Ching to the Heaven or Father Trigram.  Essentially this means you become the boss!  Use this time while you borrow this wonderfully clear position to be focused, direct and the leader.  This is the year to ask for a raise or demand what you see as just and fair. Try not to be overbearing while you are in this position as while you take on the cloak of Father making you appear overly moral, direct and sometimes insensitive.

Queen Elizabeth II, Conrad Black, Jerry Springer, Ben Affleck, Tom Cruise, Daniel Radliffe, Stewart Pearce, Jose Mourinho, Justin Timberlake

                  The 3 Wood Star

This year your Star migrates to the more laid back position of the West which belongs in the I Ching to the position of the Youngest Daughter.  This is a special House which represents reflection, taking stock and not taking life too seriously.  At the same time others might not take you too seriously either at work or in a relationship and therefore it is vital that you are prepared to put your head above the parapet and ask for what you want.  Quite often in this House an unexpected dividend, pay rise or luck with the lottery can come your way!  It is a very good House to reflect on your future and where to plan your next move.

Osama Barack, Sharon Osbourne, Vincent Cable, Ruth Turner, Martin O’Neill, Pervez Musharraf, Mick Jagger

                  The 4 Wood Star

This is not an easy year for the 4 Wood Star as it now moves to the North East known as the Mountain in the I Ching.  This position is always notoriously quiet and where it is not very easy to be heard or for you to hear clearly what is going on.  The best use of this position (the North East) is to study and to reinvent yourself.  The positive qualities of the North East are reflection, meditation and deep inner work.  There is also a sense in the air that something strong and bright is on the horizon.  The reason being that next year your Star migrates to the South which is represented by the element Fire and therefore there is a feeling of “a calm before the storm” in the atmosphere for you this year.  Sit tight and don’t do anything too rash!

Gordon Brown, Jeremy Clarkson, Katie Holmes, Renee Zellweger, Paul McCartney, Sting.

                  The 5 Yellow Star

This is your big year! After a year in the North East position known as the Mountain in 2007, you are now in the limelight as you occupy the position of the South or Fire.  This is the year when the spotlight is on you.  Be prepared for this year as the spotlight will also show up anything that is not working as well as that which is working!  It is your opportunity to really shine and show yourself to the whole world, the community and your family.  Often an intense time but also exciting as you will feel deeply inspired and can be an enormous inspiration to those around you.  It will be particularly strong in September 2008.

Charles Kennedy, Freddie Flintoff, Marc Anthony, Donald Rumsfeld, Sir Alex Ferguson, Charlotte Church, Kylie Minogue, Elizabeth Taylor, Harriet Harman

                  The 6 Metal Star

In 2007 your Star occupied the position of Fire in the South bringing a lot of attention to your Star.  In 2008 your star now migrates to the opposite end of the sphere to the North which will be a lot quieter and a wonderful opportunity for you to take stock regarding your future.  The North position is rather like the dead of night or the depths of winter.  This is a time in nature and indeed for humans to deeply recharge.  Use this time well to chart your future, look after your health and plan securely for your own future.  Water is also the element in Chinese medicine that supports the function of the kidneys and your adrenals – both systems which provide you with energy.  It is not a great year to dash around and burn yourself out.

Pamela Anderson, B.Netanyanu, Dick Cheney, Phil Spector, Holly Hunter, Heather Mills, Orlando Bloom, Rupert Murdoch, Arsene Wenger, Phil Vickery, Ice-T

                  The 7 Metal Star

After a quiet year in your “Winter” in 2007 you now slowly move to the South West which is the position in the I Ching that is held by the Mother Trigram.   A gentle, quiet year and one in which you can build securely for your future.  This can involve new partnerships, new investments or even a new relationship.  This is a solid House where your energy moves slowly but at the same time in a very steady fashion.  Try to keep grounded and form new alliances and investments with others.  This is a wonderful year for preparing you for 2009 when you Star rotates to the East – Spring.

David Beckham, Kate Winslett, Ronnie Wood, Scarlett Johansson, Lewis Hamilton, Duncan Fletcher, David Cameron, Prince Harry

                  The 8 Earth Star

Finally after two years of a relatively quiet time your Star now moves to the East – symbolic of youth, vigour, stamina and creativity!  You are about to enter into a whole new cycle in terms of the Nine Stars.  Think of the dawn, think of new beginnings and that spirit of youth.  Harness all this wonderful charge to activate a new venture.  You will seem unstoppable during this phase in 2008 and it will become increasingly so during September.

Hillary Clinton, Oliver Letwin, Dave Gilmour, Roger Waters, Victoria Beckham, Elizabeth Hurley, Amy Winehouse

                  The 9 Fire Star

This year you continue the flavour of the previous year as your Star now enters the South East.  The Trigram for this position from the I Ching is known as Wind.  It is a very fast moving position within the nine year cycle and probably the most creative of all.  You have the full force of Spring behind you and the pace of life will be extremely rapid.  The key to success this year is to remain grounded.  It is very likely that whatever you take on and focus with will take off - big time!  At the same time do not bite off more than you can chew or make promises that you cannot keep.  Go for it and enjoy!

George Bush Junior, Courtney Love, David Bowie, Monty Panesar, Paula Radcliffe, Prince William, Brian Ashton, Bill Gates, Donald Trump, Kate Moss

The 9 Star Astrological Influences in 2007

2007 will begin on the first day of Spring – 4th of February and the dominant influence will be the 2 Earth Star. Sitting the in the centre, this Star is represented by the Trigram Mother. Hopefully this will bring a calming and settling influence to the whole planet.

Here is what I sense is in store for all the 9 Stars in 2007:

The 2 Earth Star: this year your Star is in the centre and this is a major opportunity to re-invent yourself. It is likely to be a very, very busy year, sometimes chaotic and sometimes brilliant. Be prepared for both aspects to surface at any given moment! It is quite likely that this intensity of change or upheaval will be much stronger in either February or November in 2007. Try and stay still this year.

The 3 Wood Star: this year your Star migrates to the north-west and you borrow the position that normally belongs to Father. In other words, you become the boss! Use your time while you borrow this position to be clear, focused and direct. This is the year to ask for that raise or to demand what you see as just.

The 4 Wood Star: this is a more laid back position for you in 2007 as you now move to the west. This House represents reflection, taking stock and not taking life too seriously. At the same time others may not take you too seriously, either in work or in relationships and therefore it is vital that you are prepared to put your head above the parapet and ask for what you want.

The 5 Yellow Star: not an easy ride for you this year as your Star now moves to the north-east – known as the Mountain. Always a quiet position and one where it is very easy for you to study, to reflect, to meditate or to go in on yourself. At the same time it is quite difficult for you to be heard or for you to hear as clearly as normal. Make sure that your communication this year is very, very clear.

The 6 Metal Star: this is your big year! After a year in the Mountain in 2006 you are now in the limelight as you occupy the position of the south or Fire.

A very good year to be noticed but make sure you are prepared for this spotlight in order that what you wish to be promoted is crystal clear and ready.

The 7 Metal Star: having been in the spotlight in 2006, your star now migrates to the opposite direction – to the north. This position is rather like being in the winter which is a great time to recuperate, to build your inner reserves and to dream and plan your future schemes. Avoid pushing yourself too hard this year but sow the seeds for future endeavours.

The 8 Earth Star: in 2007 your Star moves to the south-west and you are in a position of preparation before Spring appears for you in 2008. Try and get your house in order, your finances in order and your plans clear for a period of rapid growth that will come your way in 2008.

The 9 Fire Star: after 2 years in what may have felt like the doldrums, you are back! Your Star has now moved to the east which represents the Spring and the spirit of youth and new beginnings. You have a run of several years ahead of you and now is the time to take advantage of this new found enthusiasm and vitality.

The 1 Water Star: what you planted and nurtured in 2006 is going to grow very fast this year. Remember that your position in the south-east is about rapid growth. When all the positive factors of growth shine on a piece of land, it is not only the plants that benefit but also the weeds! Take care of the weeds!

The 5 Yellow Star Position in 2007

From a Feng Shui perspective, the 5 Yellow Star is always associated with difficulty or danger. This is not people that have the 5 Yellow Star but simply the position that the 5 Yellow Star rotates to year by year.

In 2007 the 5 Yellow Star moves to the north-east and if your front door faces north-east, it would be sensible to “drain” the Earth from this star by hanging a wind chime just inside your front door. Remember this is only for 2007 and needs to be removed by 3rd February 2008.
